About us
…The passion project of two real people (yes, Sean and Dolly) who want to share their love of great live music and the warmth of a superbly imagined bar space in which to experience it. Dolly brings years of hospitality experience running some of Sydney’s signature bars and clubs (and shakes a great cocktail or three), and Sean’s musicianship as jazz, funk and soul bandleader is legendary in the industry. Together they have created the new basement bar Sydney deserves.
Nestled in the heart of Kings Cross, the spiritual home of Sydney’s nightlife, Sean & Dolly’s is the ultimate destination for live music, delicious food, and a specialty cocktail menu with a contemporary local twist. “We want you to feel welcome and at home” says Dolly. “So when you walk down those stairs into our cozy basement hideaway you enter a space that’s both inviting and exciting. A classic nightclub vibe with exceptional service and unforgettable tunes. The perfect atmosphere, whether you’re here to ride the energy or just soak up the vibe. Where great music and great times come together, featuring an ever-changing roster of amazing musicians and singers, presenting a mix of jazz, funk, blues, soul, and beats. Sean leads the house band from the keyboards, with an array of special guests and bands (see What’s On for regular updates or better still get on our email list). “Musicians who play because they love music”, explains Sean about the energy and vibe of the club. “We’re more than just a club when it comes to the music, we’re a real venue, where great musicians showcase their talent”.
