Paul Mason is a celebrated Australian guitarist whose extraordinary talent and musical versatility have earned him acclaim both at home and on the international stage. Best known as the long-time lead guitarist for pop powerhouse Jessica Mauboy and as a founding member of the theatrical rock juggernaut Battlesnake, Paul’s sound is as dynamic as it is unmistakable.
Crowned #1 in Happy Mag’s “Top 20 Australian Guitarists You Need in Your Life,” Paul’s career has spanned genres, stages, and continents. In 2013, he was a finalist in the prestigious National Jazz Awards at Wangaratta, a testament to his roots in improvisation and technical mastery.
Paul has shared the stage with musical legends such as Sting, Harry Connick Jr., Kate Miller-Heidke, Christine Anu, Vera Blue, Rai Thistlethwaite (Thirsty Merc), Brett Garsed, and the iconic jazz artist James Morrison—who, recognising Paul’s talent early on, awarded him a scholarship at the Generations in Jazz Festival while he was still in high school.
His solo work continues to captivate audiences, most notably through his critically acclaimed concert series, “Paul Mason Plays the Music of Jeff Beck.” These tribute performances have sold out venues across the country, including Sydney’s Factory Theatre and Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide as part of the Adelaide International Guitar Festival.
